test – Bunding Calculator

Floor Bunding Calculator

Tell us what you are storing and how much space you have. We will recommend the simplest floor bunding option for quoting.

1

Storage setup

Use the standard types below or add one custom container. If the real container dimensions differ, update them below so displacement is based on the actual geometry.

Common dimensions are prefilled below when needed.

Common dimensions are prefilled below when needed.

Only needed if your setup is not standard.

2

Space available

Enter the overall floor area available for the bund layout. The calculator allows for bund wall width inside that space.

3

Access needs

We will use this to suggest whether ramps should be included.

How this calculator sizes a recommendation

This tool compares the available area against standard floor bunding profiles and uses the greater of:

  • 110% of the largest container
  • 25% of total stored volume

It also allows for displacement from the remaining intact containers under a single-container failure assumption. For mixed storage, it checks each possible failed container type and uses the highest intact-container displacement case.

Standard assumptions used here:

  • 1000L IBC defaults: 1.20m x 1.00m footprint, 1.16m height
  • 205L drum defaults: 0.60m x 0.60m footprint, 0.90m height
  • TERFB Rubber Floor Bunding: 40mm high, 140mm base width, 5m lengths
  • TEFFB Flexible Floor Bunding: 75mm and 100mm options, 100mm base width

This calculator provides general guidance only and is intended to help identify a suitable bunding solution. Final suitability and compliance should be confirmed for the specific site, substance, and operating conditions.
